We are saddened to learn of the passing of Enos Richardson, Jr, former president of our round table, 2005-2006.  He passed away on November 17, 2025, in Fredericksburg.  Enos was born in Mount Kisco, New York on October 31, 1934.  He grew up on Brooke’s Bank Farm on the Rappahannock River in Essex County, Virginia. After graduating from Harvard College, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, then worked on Wall Street before returning to Virginia.  He earned a law degree from George Washington University and opened a successful law practice in Fredericksburg.  He was very active in Civil War preservation efforts.  Along with six others, he formed the Central Virginia Battlefield Trust, serving one term as president.  He was also active in the formation of the Friends of the Rappahannock.  His leadership and many contributions resulted in improvements throughout our community.

The Board of Directors unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Enos for his exceptional commitment to the conservation of natural resources and preservation of open spaces, especially Civil War hallowed ground.  Additionally, the Civil War Round Table of Fredericksburg made a $100 donation to the Central Virginia Battlefield Trust in his honor.
